Pool Side

I grew up in Southern California.  So that means every third house on the street had a pool. Unfortunately that was not my house. Fortunately I was a bit sneaky as a kid. What can I say I have an older brother. I learned it from him. Behind all the houses there was the natural wilderness area to create a barrier between our backyards and the next street. At the beginning of one summer my brother, sister and I walked through this wilderness barrier so we could look over the back yard fences and see who had the swimming pools. Then we started making new friends. My brother even took it one step further and figured out when each pool owner was going on vacation.  Then treated himself to a new pool every week by hopping the fence.

Men in Shorts

There is something very sexy about a man in a summer short. It just looks classic.

Retro Wednesday- Family Camping Trips

Seeing the Hilfiger's camping photo shoot inspired me for this retro Wednesday. It's all about enjoying the outdoors together.

Camping with the Hilfiger Family

This is my all time favorite add from Tommy. It takes me back to every family vacation I ever had in my youth. My father is an extreme outdoors man. Thus he wanted to share his great love with his family. We started simple at those campgrounds where you drive up to your spot and you set your tent up there, with showers and toilets. Then moved on to no showers only a freezing cold stream to bath in. Then no toilets just a shovel and toilet paper. Then we moved up to backpacking, where after a hard days hike with a lode of gear on your back and another day to go you wish you left the shovel back in the car. But what I have learned through all this is that when you are stripped of all modern technology (even toilets) you have nothing to distract you from the people who you are with and bonds are truly made stronger.

Retro Wednesday- Equestrian

There is something so romantic about vintage equestrian photos. I don't know if it's the beauty of the horse or the nostalgia of it all.
