So while we are on the topic of Gossip Girl let's talk about leading man Chuck Bass.  He is a strong character who has a very privileged upbringing. He certainly dresses the role of a regular on page six. There are quite a few looks from Chuck Bass I could see running the runway of a Hilfiger show.  I am sure that many of Tommy Hilfiger pieces were used in his wardrobe.

Gossip Girl

Gossip Girl is a hit drama on the CW. This program is responsible for prep school style gaining back more popularity in recent years. Just as upper 20 and 30 something women look to Sex and the City, girls in their teens and 20s are looking to this show for fashion tips. The stylist of Gossip Girl give preppy a new twist. Never thought I would be saying bohemian and preppy in the same sentence but it might be the only way to describe the character of Serena van der Woodsen's style. While we still have the classic preppy look with characters like Blair Waldorf and Chuck Bass. The show is a great place to look to update your preppy style.

Retro Wednesday- The Slopes

It's amazing how technology changes every aspect of our world. When it comes to athletic apparel it is always evolving. Cool-wick fabrics that bring our sweat away form our skin, down coats and jackets that keep us warm in 30 below temperatures are just some of the many advances. So there is no need for the ski wear of old. But these old athletic styles don't just disappear. There is no use in the athletic field so the styles slide their way into our everyday lives.  The ski sweaters of the 70's are now worn to work in the winter with a classy blazer over.  The knit hats that use to keep us warm on the slopes are now worn on our daily commutes to work.

Ski Trip

I love these adds because it reminds me of every winter when my family and two other families would all rent out a cabin together in Big Bear, California. There were two huge rooms with tuns of beds, all the girls in one and the boys in the other. There were also several smaller bedrooms with one queen size bed for the adults. We would go snowboarding all day and then join together with hot chocolate, the fire burning, and games at night.

Can we do a re-do on Christmas?

I want a redo on Christmas. I know everyone says Christmas is their favorite time of year but I mean it. I could redo Christmas over and over again and I won't get sick of it. I love the build up to the event too. You start just after Thanksgiving with the decorations. Not just at home but the whole city gets its lights and it almost feels like the cheer is then blanketed over all the buildings around you. Then you start to think about the best thing to get for those who you love the most. Then comes the Christmas parties with friends and you know it's only a week away. And when Christmas eve arrives you think it all went by so fast, I want a redo. But the great thing about living in Holland is there is TWO Christmas days. That is one tradition I need to bring back to America.
