I SENT IT!

 

So I did it. I sent in my CV and cover letter to Tommy Hilfiger. After over a year of blogging about the company I have wanted to work for I sent in my application. I am a bit nervous and excited at the same time. I can't wait to hear back from them. I will let you know if I get an interview. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

It's Going to be a Nautical Season

The new seasons campaign is out. A day out on the open seas. The signature Hilfiger colors are prominent in this campaign and the American spirit is alive with the implied independence day celebration of the Hilfigers.

Influence on Fashion Campaign

The first is a campaign from Mac cosmetics holiday collection 2012.

A 1960's unknown fashion campaign. 

Designer Lee Alexander McQueen with Sarah Jessica Parker at the 2006 Met Costume Institute Gala. Both made a huge fashion statement by arriving in the family tartan of McQueen.

It is plain to see that today tartans are not just a barbaric war uniform worn by the people of the highlands of Scotland. Tartans have progressed from their primitive beginnings to become a part of our high society. In today's world fashion designers like Tommy Hilfiger and Alexander McQueen are proud to use tartans in their current collections.

It's beautiful how such a historic traditional pattern is able to survive the test of time and the scrutiny of the modern fashion world. The tartan print has not only survived but triumphed in the faces of fashion editors and designers. Today we can thank the traditions of the Scottish for this traditional yet fashionable print.
